The Cambridge cubs are growing quickly

Updated: Jul 30

The fox cubs are becoming more independent and more cautious of their environment by the week. Anything new in their area is observed suspiciously for a long time before warily approaching. Even when they've overcome their initial fear they remain edgy and take flight at the slightest unusual sound. While this makes viewing them at close range challenging, it's good news for their survival chances, even in the relatively benign setting of the edge of Cambridge.

This rather pale-coloured cub provided some lovely portraits staring directly into the lens while standing amidst a patch of daisies. Moments later, its attention switched to something within the hedge, providing some alternative compositions as it zeroed in on the location of the sound before it stealthily investigated.
